There is a quiet truth that lives in the heart of all sacred paths: God is One. Not just one among many, but the One — the Infinite Source, the Loving Presence behind all forms, the silent awareness at the center of everything.
Non-duality is a word used to describe this reality, but it is not just a philosophy. It is a direct experience. It is the gentle dissolving of all illusions of separation. It is the profound remembrance that we have never left God, and in truth, we cannot.
As A Course in Miracles reminds us:
“You dwell not here, but in eternity. You travel but in dreams, while safe at home.” (ACIM, T-13.VII.17:6-7)
We Are Not Separate from God — We Are Expressions of the Divine
What if the idea that we are separate from God is the root illusion behind all suffering?
In non-dual awareness, we begin to see: we are not simply created by God — we are created of God. There is no real boundary between Creator and creation. Just as the ocean expresses itself in waves, so too does God express as you, as me, as the world.
The mind resists this truth because the ego thrives on division. It says: “This is me, and that is other. This is God, and that is not.” But Love — true Love — recognizes no such divisions.
Awakening Is Not Becoming Something New — It Is Remembering Who You Already Are
Spiritual awakening isn’t about adding anything. It is about letting go of what we are not.
It’s the return to the heart — to Presence — to that inner stillness that knows:
“I am as God created me.” (ACIM, W-pI.94.1:1)
When we strip away the labels, the roles, the traumas, and the stories — what remains is the Light within. That Light is not personal. It is universal. It is eternal. It is Divine.
And it has never dimmed.
One Light, Many Forms
Some might ask: If we are all God in form, why are we so different?
This is the beauty of Divine expression. Unity is not uniformity.
Think of the sun — how many beams of light it shines, how many colors it reflects through water droplets. Each beam, each rainbow, each sparkle on the ocean is still the sun. In the same way, our uniqueness is a gift, not a separation. Our differences are the artistry of One Loving Source.
As Rumi said:
“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.”
Living Oneness in Daily Life
To truly live non-duality is to move from the mind to the heart. It is not an intellectual belief; it is a lived intimacy with Life itself.
When I remember I am one with God, how can I judge you?
When I see the Divine Light in myself, how can I fail to see it in the stranger, the enemy, the wounded, or the joyful?
Non-duality calls us to a deeper compassion. It asks us to listen, to love, and to let go — not out of duty, but from the realization that we are never separate from what we give.
“To give and to receive are one in truth.” (ACIM, W-pI.108.1:2)
God Is Closer Than Your Next Breath
You do not have to seek God in faraway temples or ancient texts — unless they bring you joy.
Look instead at the space between your thoughts.
Feel the silence after an exhale.
Notice the warmth in your heart when you offer kindness.
That’s God.
That’s Love.
That’s You.
Returning to the One
In the end, the journey of healing is the journey of returning to the awareness of Oneness. Not as a lofty idea, but as a living truth.
We are not here to become divine.
We are here to remember that we always were.
As we let the veil fall, we begin to see what the mystics and sages of every age have whispered in our ears and written in our hearts:
There is only God.
Only Love.
Only One.
And that One is who we truly are.
